Deck Pictures

Decks: Decks add additional charm and warmth to a landscape and can be designed and used as an extension of your house. I coustruct all my deck with Pressure Treated or other Outdoor Rated lumber. I use 4" x 4", 4" x 6", or 6" x 6" posts, depending on the deck design, that are rated for direct ground contact. Posts are set in concrete or placed on piers depending on the design. The sub-structure is constructed of 2" x 8" or 2" x 10" joists depending on the span length. Joists are secured with properly rated Joist Hangers, and the sub-structure of the deck is bolted to the post using 1/2" Carriage bolts. Deck boards are Standard 5/4" x 6" deck boards. Unless otherwise requested, I use outdoor rated nails for securing the deck. Following are several examples of decks I have designed and constructed.
