Neighbors and dog walkers stop us when we are outside --to comment on how great the front yard looks!
After painstaking planning to accommodate our vision and our budget, George did a beautiful job transforming our yard from tired to inviting. He took out a row of overgrown, unwieldy (and sometimes painful!) holly bushes. About 35 lawn bags later, he laid out an interesting, gently sloping pattern for a new flowerbed.
The new space is bounded by an arrangement of “one man boulders”. (Those rocks, we learned, are from 50-150 pounds, and can be hoisted by one (strong) person. The stones are all different, of course, but George used his creative eye to lay them out in a nicely flowing way, with every eighth stone vertical instead of horizontal.
He also helped us pick out a great variety of plants, all the right scale for the space. We now have variegated Japanese mock orange, small dwarf gardenias, compact purple diamond loropetalum shrubs, hostas, ice plants, Gulf Stream Nandina, and some “sky pencil” hollies (that will NOT get out of control!)
George’s estimate was spot on, and he answered all our questions about care and maintenance. It was a pleasure to work with him!

First off, a word about professionalism. George is a consummate professional. From the first day we met for a quote to the final inspection of our deck, George exhibited excellent professionalism. Never once was George late, out of touch or absent. He quoted us a fair price and project timeline and stayed absolutely true to both. George was always a pleasure to work with.
As far as craftsmanship, again, George excels and is an awesome collaborator. For our deck, George had two obstacles. First, our back yard is on a large hill and second, we were very opinionated about the style of our deck. George took both in stride. He was absolutely open to our design suggestions and was full of imaginative designs himself. He seamlessly built the deck into the hill and made the structure a smoothing, flowing addition to our home. He built the entire deck himself. George clearly takes pride in his work. His job-site was always spick and span and when he was finished, he cleaned off the deck and arranged some potted plants on the deck for us.
I give George my highest recommendation and wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again.
